Leon

After a long day spent in Valenciana and with the mummies, we decided to go to Leon! Leon is one of the bigger cities in the state of Guanajuato, and it is known for the leather products (shoes, wallets, belts, jackets, etc.). It's about 40 minutes away from Guanajuato, and much longer when you take the bus! No surprise there...

I would say we had a pretty good time. Near the bus station are all of the shopping centers that are based off of the leather goods. We walked around there for a little while and then decided to take a taxi to the mall. Here's a picture of us in the taxi:



Yes, we did cram 5 people in the back seat. Plenty of people drove by staring into our taxi. I felt like we were like the clowns who fit crazy numbers of people in their little cars!

The mall in Leon was pretty nice, but the prices were much more expensive than we were used to. I didn't buy anything except lunch, but I still think the trip was worth it. It was nice to get out of Guanajuato and see something on our own for a little while.
